New accounts have been created as a way for people to help kids save money to be used once the child achieves 18 years of age. These are not retirement accounts although they act just like one in form and function.

We have so much software and I am not sure who uses most of it or if it gets used at all?

The professionals that are fierce advocates, guardians of practicing accounting; these are the people that understand we are vital forces for the public, for businesses and their stakeholders and/or owners.

In business as in baseball we would love our sales to cash turnover to be well over 1 as well. A simple formula that tells us how quickly (efficiently) our cash goes in the bank. Then we have accounted for the variable change.

Decades ago, when working for a big Wall Street firm this was a simple answer given to us by management. Whoever had the most money wins. By and large this was a true statement as the business was quite different back then. It was commission based so you can see why whatever client had the most was the most important. But then the game changed for many of us.

I was sitting in front of the computer over the weekend in my home office. Next to my desk are three bookshelves. I think I need a fourth as they are packed! (FYI the above pic is NOT my bookshelf as I am way too OCD to allow that to happen) Anyway, I was staring at the business section of my personal library and came across the idea of listing out some of my favorite reads so that all of you could enjoy (if that is your thing) for yourselves.
